Once upon a time, Owl Grateful wind stood behind and beside the vision dream of Sheya Grace Wind
to move to the tropics and create a paradise eco-village (complete with a space of love permaculture garden home and art farm for midwifing new culture artists of all mediums, a goddess life temple, regenerative architecture and an extraordinary loveschool and explorium.
What a big. magnificent dream! With high hopes and enthusiasm we searched thru costa rica...and finding the most beautiful fertile, welcoming farm in the diamante valley. Aguas Sagradas!
waterfalls! spring mountain water! sweet people and so many amazing animals, birds and plants! mature fruit trees..
we would join the founder , be source people for the beginning of the community..
we journeyed to and from saltspring island BC and oregon and back to costa rica for gathering resources and developing ourselves, each cycle growing more beauty.. building a website . www.aguasagradas.org
weaving bonds with the excellent people of the valley,
offering our gifts
planting abundant fruit trees and food forests
building an elegant simple dream home
a bamboo greenhouse!
and a dear guest cabin..
after three years we realized this noble project is no longer sustainable for us..
our income streams require alot of care and presence and populations of people who value what we do.. ( and sharing the same language!)
And so, the dream has begun, and is real.. and is ready for the next people who are longing for a sunnier, simpler and wilder life.. who desire to live intimately with their land, water and growing food.. offgrid families, artists, aspiring permaculture farmers, community minded souls, ideally with some resources and income to sustain this endeavor.. its doesnt require alot.. a family can live well for under $1000 a month here..
could this be you??
we called this place we grew into and built with and listened to : MAWAYO
Mawayo now calls out to her new people: come home!!
she is amagic place... with deep creeks on either side ( small seasonal waterfalls) and gravity fed most pure direct from the mountain spring water ( it is miraculous water)
aprox, 2,5 acres of gently sloping south and west facing rich soil river valley land..
we've planted and nurtured dozens of pineapples, loads of exotic fruit and nut trees.. macadamia nut, avacodos. pomelos, tarop, cacao, biriba, guanabana.. just to name a few! 15 varieties of bananas.. lots of perennial flowers, edible greens and local root crops..
theres 4 more building sites up above, amazing mountain views, and lots more room to plant and grow.
the great thing about this place is theres plenty of room for your creativity and designs, and at the same time alot of the hard work has already been done. and its turn-key simple to begin.. this area has full capacity for local food security and sustainability.
we have awesome neighbours too..!
the house.. is made of local hardwoods melina and cypress, bamboo, with a metal roof and ceramic tile floors and alot of love!
its open concept, with high ceilings ,
a living room,
kitchen
and marriage alcove,
as well as a meditation music room
and sweet deck with hammock.. the best place to be!
on the porch is a solar shower, composting toilet and covered laundry..
the main building is aprox 800 sq. feet.
as it is at the end of the road and somewhat in the jungle, its definitely for those with a big love for the huge presence of nature, creatures bugs and rain...perfect for people who love nature and quiet and wildness and creative free space.. the tone of this part of costa rica, for us, seems like the tropical wild west, minus the guns and gold. people are very peaceful and tolerant and everyone does alot of what they want ( ie not alot of rules about how to live)
amazingly, we also get good cell reception and 3g access on the deck with a local card..
for a few thousand $ more you could easily set up a full solar sytem.. we did fine with just a generator..
at this point the land is fully paid for and owned as one 88 acre piece, with aguas sagradas established as a legal costa rican corporation.. the new owners of mawayo will legally have shares of the whole farm, 2 community memberships ( and votes) within the greater farm and community of aguas sagradas., as well as the 2.5 acre lot and all the buildings on it. there is a process to go thru to create personal title to the lot, which we didn't pursue, and it is doable. for more details about the overall structure and vision of aguas, go to www.aguasagradas.org
for this beloved and wonderful creation we are asking $88,000 .. including all the extras .. a great bed, furniture, excellent honda generator stocked kitchen, new washing machine..
what a deal!!
we will be returning to costa rica in mid january for 5 weeks to complete things and hopefully pass her on to the right people..
please contact us if you have any questions or interest in this opportunity..
BLESSED BE!!
